The Japan Times Online — May 28, 2004. To mark the 75th anniversary of the opening of diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan in 1929, the Bungakuza Theatre Company will present a classic Canadian play, “Waiting for the Parade,” penned by leading Canadian playwright John Murrell.
Murrell, born in Texas, has been artistic director at the Banff Centre for the Arts since 1999. His works include “Power in the Blood,” which won him the 1975 Clifford E. Lee award, and “Memoir,” his biggest hit, written in 1977.
