“My good friend Patrick Reid forwarded me an email to announce the launch of the Chris Driscoll Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Banff Centre of Fine Arts. This scholarship will be awarded to an attendee of this year’s International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music under the direction of world renowned trumpet player and composer Dave Douglas. Chris and the band he and Pat formed attended this workshop last summer and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of their lives. The memories the band has of their time there will be cherished forever. Since its existence, this workshop has influenced the lives of hundreds of talented musicians from all over the world and now with this scholarship fund, we can give someone else the same opportunity in Chris Driscoll’s name. This is a wonderful way to honor his memory.”
