Les Manning, an internationally reknowned potter, spent Saturday conducting an all-day workshop at the Fort Saskatchewan Pottery Guild.

He was appointed head of the [Banff Centre] ceramics department in 1974 and held that position for two decades. Then he moved into the position of artist in residence the following year. “My role at the Banff Centre was to try and bring all the famous ceramists that I could to come and do a program for us. Once I found those people we brought them to Banff and got them to share their ideas and work with us,” said Manning.
