About
A Peak Inside
A Peak Inside is the newsletter for members of Mountain Culture and Environment. Prior to 2009 A Peak Inside was sent as a print newsletter approximately three times a year, however we have moved towards a less-wasteful online newsletter which we feel is more user-friendly and interactive – and we are pleased to be able to share this with a broader range of friends and followers.
A Peak Inside focuses on behind-the-scenes content – with articles on people connected in some way to our programs, as well as updates on our partnerships, upcoming events, and current mountain issues.
Mountain Culture
Mountain Culture and Environment programs at The Banff Centre promote understanding and appreciation of the natural world through creative expression of mountain experiences; and by creating opportunities for dialogue and leadership on environmental and sustainability issues. Showcase programs include the Banff Mountain Film Festival, reaching audiences of over 200,000 in more than 30 countries, environment forums and summits, and a broad range of workshops and seminars on filmmaking, writing, and photography.
Activities include the Banff Mountain Book Festival , the Banff Mountain Film Festival and World Tour, the Banff Mountain Photography Competition, Mountain Forum, Mountain Conferences, and Mountain Summits.
The Banff Centre
The Banff Centre is Canada’s creative leader in arts and culture.
Our mission is Inspiring Creativity. In our powerful mountain setting, exceptional artists and leaders from around the world create and perform new works of art, share skills and knowledge in an interdisciplinary environment, explore ideas, and develop solutions in the arts, leadership, and the environment.
